Steeple Rocks Choir, launched with about 30 singers of all abilities in 2012, now has more than 80 members from the Trowbridge/Warminster area. We don't all turn up every time, but there are enough of us to ensure we have good, strong well attended rehearsals and performances. We sing Pop and Rock songs with a little Gospel thrown into the mix, most in four- part harmony, though some go up to six parts and sometimes we sing in unison.
We meet every Monday evening in the Jubilee Hall in Bratton. After warming up with some breathing and singing exercises, we sing from 7.30 till 9.00 pm. Our sessions cost £6, payable each week you come, and those who want to, finish off the evening having a drink to wind down. We also perform several times a year locally and are amazed how much our standard of singing has improved since we started.
This is down to the skills of our conductor, Adrienne Hale, a classically trained singer and teacher with many years' professional experience as a performer and as a conductor. She can sing everything from a Mozart aria to a Rolling Stones number. Adrienne performs regularly herself with rock band Purple Fish and after a long teaching career in various schools, she now teaches singing at home as well as helping people who suffer from Parkinson's.
Please get in touch with Adrienne using the contact page if you are interested in singing with us, we welcome newcomers, whether skilled singers or those whose previous experience is in the shower (who all improve dramatically with practice).
