COVID rules since September 2021
We were so delighted to be able to come back and sing together once again in September 2021 but things had obviously changed. In an effort to keep everyone as safe as possible, we have put a few steps in place. Firstly, we have a risk assessment that members can read at any time and we would prefer if everyone who comes to choir is fully vaccinated.
Bratton Hall has installed a very efficient ventilation system which is switched on before rehearsals begin, there is hand sanitiser available and the chairs that we use are cleaned after every rehearsal. Only the same few people handle the chairs at the beginning and end of rehearsals. When we started last September, we also asked a Health and Safety Officer to monitor CO2 readings to check the levels at different times and the results were very encouraging. All the readings were well below what is considered dangerous.
Masks may be worn at members' discretion although it is very difficult to sing comfortably whilst wearing one.
Government guidelines are constantly kept up to date with so these steps may change and recommendations are also taken seriously from professional bodies such as Choral Directors Association and Association of Teachers of Singing.
